Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
Make a dough from the ingredients for the dough. Then divide the dough and roll out into two equal-sized, thin sheets. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and place the first sheet on the baking paper. Spread the filling (made with ground nuts, sugar, and orange juice/zest) evenly on top. Place the second sheet on top. It helps to first roll out the dough on another sheet of baking paper and then place it on the filling. Now pierce the top layer several times with a fork or skewer. Press the edges firmly together. Bake for about 20 minutes at 200°C (top/bottom heat) or 180°C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes. Prepare the glaze, heat it in a pan, and spread it over the still-warm cookie dough. The dough is easy to cut while it’s still hot. I recommend using even squares, not too large, as a cutting pattern. Once cooled, the filling should be large enough to hold both lids together. For a full baking sheet, you’ll need double the amount.
