Cream cheese sticks

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 260 g flour
  • 220 g butter, soft
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • n. B. Sea salt, coarse
  • sesame
  • poppy
  • Caraway seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Savory cookies

Preheat the oven to 175°C. Combine flour, butter, cream cheese, and salt in a bowl. Knead into a smooth ball of dough. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 6 mm thick (you may want to sprinkle the dough with a little flour while kneading to make it easier). Cut the dough into strips, about 2 cm wide and 11 cm long. You can get nicer strips using a pastry wheel, but a pizza cutter or knife works just as well. Place the sticks on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with lightly beaten egg yolk. Finally, sprinkle with coarse sea salt or poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and/or caraway seeds, if desired. Place the sticks in the oven for about 15 minutes (or until golden brown).
