Puff pastry animals

Ingredients for 1 servings:

• 1 pack of puff pastry from the refrigerated section (roll)
• 1 egg yolk
• 1 tbsp cream
• salt and pepper
• ½ cucumber(s)
• 10 meatballs (mini meatballs)
• 20 cubes of cheese
• 20 grapes
• 20 cherry tomatoes
• 20 mozzarella minis

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

ideal for a child’s birthday party or a children’s platter at a party

Cut out animals from the puff pastry using cookie cutters or similar tools and place them on a baking sheet. Mix the egg yolk, cream, salt, and pepper, and brush the animals with this mixture. Bake in a preheated oven (180°C, fan-assisted oven) for approximately 20 minutes. Remove the animals from the oven and let them cool. During this time, wash the cucumbers, tomatoes, and grapes. Slice the cucumber and halve the meatballs. First, thread the animal onto a wooden skewer, then decorate with the other ingredients as desired. Place a cucumber or meatball at the bottom of each skewer to ensure stability on the skewer.
