Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 pkt. Puff pastry, frozen, 300 g
- 1 medium-sized onion(s), finely chopped
- 150 g cooked ham, finely diced
- 20 g butter
- 2 tbsp cream
- 1 pinch of salt
- ½ tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- 1 pinch(s) sweet paprika powder
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 100 g cheese (medium Gouda), finely diced
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Thaw the puff pastry, roll it out on a floured baking board to a thickness of 5 mm, and cut the dough into 10 x 10 cm squares, then cut each square in half diagonally. Brown the diced onion and ham in hot butter, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat, add the cream, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley, and mix in the cheese. Fill the dough triangles with the cooled filling, roll them up diagonally, and place them on a baking sheet. Whisk the egg yolk with milk and brush over the croissants. Bake for 15 minutes at 200-220 degrees Celsius (400-425 degrees Fahrenheit). Serve as fresh as possible.
