Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 liters of water
- 4 kg sugar
- 80 g citric acid
- 3 lemon(s), optional, untreated
- 20 elderflower heads
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 3 days; Total time approx. 3 days 20 minutes
Dilution juice for water or with sparkling wine
Boil the water. Dissolve the sugar and citric acid in it. Finally, add the blossoms (just the blossoms, without the green stems) and the sliced and peeled lemons (if you’re using untreated organic lemons, you don’t need to peel them, of course). Let the mixture steep for 2-3 days in a cool room, strain through a sieve, and bottle. The mixture will then keep at least until fall… and longer.
