savory pastries

Combine flour, cornstarch, and baking powder, sift onto a baking board, and mix with the grated cheese. Add the spices, egg, egg yolk, and milk, and knead into a thick paste. Add the butter, cut into pieces, and quickly knead everything into a smooth dough. Chill for 1 hour. Then roll out the dough thinly and cut out foot-shaped shapes using cookie cutters (available at household stores). Place on a greased baking sheet or one lined with baking paper and prick twice with a fork. Brush with the remaining 1/2 egg yolk. If you like, you can sprinkle the feet with poppy seeds, caraway seeds, sesame seeds, etc. as desired. Your imagination is the limit. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C – 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10 minutes.
