Spiced tea with milk

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 piece(s) ginger (approx. 2 – 3 cm)
  • 6 tsp rock candy (Grümmelkandis)
  • 500 ml milk
  • 6 tsp black tea
  • 6 carnations
  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 2 star anise
  • 500 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Roast the spices in a pan without using any oil. Add the water and bring to a boil, then add the black tea and continue to simmer for about 3 minutes. Stir in the milk and sugar cubes, then cover and let steep for another 2 minutes over low heat. Strain the spiced tea through a fine sieve and serve in tea glasses.
