Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 160 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 280 g chocolate, grated
  • 240 g ground almonds
  • 250 g flour
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 10 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Pistachios, for decoration

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

My grandmother’s recipe

Combine the butter, eggs, and chocolate in a mixing bowl and beat until fluffy. Then, alternately and in small portions, fold the almonds and flour into the dough. Shape the dough into a log and chill for about 30 minutes. Then cut the log into approximately 1cm-wide slices, place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, and bake in the oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes. Mix the egg yolks with the powdered sugar, then add the chopped pistachios. Spread the mixture onto the fake bread and let it dry in the oven.
