Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 sausages, Augsburger (alternatively Knackwurst)
  • some flour
  • some clarified butter
  • 1 packet of mashed potatoes (for 4 servings)
  • 400 ml water
  • 350 ml milk
  • 2 tsp, leveled salt
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

a very quick, filling and tasty dish

Unwrap the Augsburger (or Knacker) sausages, cut each in half, and remove the skin. Cut 6-7 times the width of the top of each sausage half. Sprinkle some flour on a plate, roll the sausages in it, and shake off any excess flour. Preheat a pan with a little clarified butter (or similar) (heat setting 6 out of 10), and add the sausages. Fry the sausages for a total of about 10 minutes, turning once or twice. Meanwhile, bring the water for the mashed potatoes to a boil and add 2 teaspoons of salt. Once boiling, remove the pan from the heat, add the milk, and stir in the instant mashed potatoes. Season with nutmeg and butter. Serve the golden-brown sausages with the mashed potatoes! Of course, you can also serve homemade mashed potatoes with them.
