Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g butter, room temperature
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • some butter-vanilla flavoring (a few drops)
  • 200 g sugar
  • 500 g flour
  • 100 g cranberries, dried

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Sterntaler’s Christmas cookies, makes about 50 pieces

Beat the butter with the vanilla extract and salt for about 10 minutes until light and fluffy. Add the sugar and stir well until dissolved. Knead in the flour until a smooth dough forms. Now just add the finely chopped cranberries. Roll out the dough to about 1 cm thick and chill for 1 hour. Then cut out small stars and bake in the oven at about 160°C (convection oven) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Don’t let it get too brown!
