Hazelnut cookies

Ingredients for 20 servings:

  • 140 g hazelnuts
  • 300 g flour
  • 140 g sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • 200 g butter
  • Flour, for rolling out
  • 150 g powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Finely grind the nuts. Mix the nuts, flour, sugar, and cinnamon, make a well in the center, and pour in the rum. Spread the butter in flakes around the edge. Quickly knead into a shortcrust pastry. Wrap in cling film and let rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface and cut out any desired shapes. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C. If desired, make a glaze with 150g icing sugar and 1 tbsp rum and spread it over the finished nut cookies. The cookies also taste delicious covered in chocolate icing!
