Alex's Austrian apple strudel muffins

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 packages of puff pastry
  • 6 apples, sour
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 10 ml milk
  • some butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Makes 12 muffins.

Grease 1 muffin tin or muffin cups with butter. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Peel the apples and dice them. Mix with the vanilla sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Cut the puff pastry into 6 equal rectangles. Brush with the milk or cream. Spread the apple filling on top and form 6 small strudels. Seal the sides firmly. Cut each strudel in half and place, sealed side down, in the muffin cups. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or according to the package instructions. Enjoy on its own, sprinkled with powdered sugar, with a dollop of whipped cream, or with vanilla sauce.
