Pork chops in fine apple sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 apples
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 large pork chops
  • 150 ml apple juice
  • 100 ml cream
  • some oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel and finely dice the onions. Wash the apples, quarter them, core them, and cut them into wedges, then drizzle with lemon juice. Preheat the oven to 80°C fan/convection oven. Season the chops with salt and pepper and fry them in a pan with hot oil for 2 minutes on each side. Place them on a baking tray and finish cooking in the hot oven for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, add the onions to the pan and sauté until translucent. Add the apples and fry for one minute. Deglaze with the apple juice and cream, bring to a boil, and simmer for 2 minutes. Season the sauce with salt and pepper and add the chops. Mashed potatoes go well as a side dish.
