Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 slice(s) cheese (e.g. Appenzeller), thick
  • 2 slice(s) cooked ham, thick
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

The cheese slices should be only half the size of the ham slices. Place the cheese on one half of the ham, fold the other half over it, and secure it with toothpicks if desired. Then coat the cheese schnitzels first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in breadcrumbs. Heat oil in a pan and fry the schnitzels until golden brown on both sides. Cover and finish cooking over low heat. Serve with tomato salad, raw vegetable salad, or simply a delicious green lettuce.
