Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 40 g fat
  • 50 g flour
  • 500 ml water
  • 2 tbsp mustard, more to taste
  • lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Serve with fish, egg dishes, boiled beef or meatballs.

Peel the onion and finely grate or chop very finely. Heat the fat and brown lightly. Add the flour and brown vigorously, stirring constantly. Add the onion and sauté. Deglaze with water, stirring constantly, bring to a boil, and finish cooking for 5 minutes in the residual heat. Combine the mustard with a little sauce and stir in. Season to taste with salt, sugar, paprika, and lemon juice.
