Apple chutney

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 liter vinegar (white wine vinegar)
  • 400 g sugar
  • 1 tsp clove(s), ground
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • possibly chili powder
  • 2 kg apples, pitted and sliced
  • 500 g onion(s), chopped
  • 500 g raisins

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Bring white wine vinegar, clove powder, sugar, cinnamon powder, and salt to a boil. Add apples, onions, and raisins. Simmer over low heat until a purée forms. Stir frequently to prevent the chutney from burning. While hot, pour into screw-top jars. Store in a cool, dark place.
