Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 80 g margarine
  • 45 g vegetable oil
  • 1 cube of yeast, fresh
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 200 ml water, lukewarm
  • 400 g cooked ham, cut into cubes
  • 1 egg(s), beaten
  • 200 g cheese (Emmental), grated

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

For the yeast dough, place the flour in a large bowl and make a small well in the center. Sprinkle the salt, margarine, and oil around the well. Place the yeast cube in a mug, sprinkle with the sugar, and stir the yeast with a spoon until liquid. Pour the liquid yeast into the well. Using the dough hook of a mixer, knead the ingredients, gradually adding the water until you have a smooth, non-sticky dough. Finish kneading with your hands if necessary. Let the dough rest in a warm place until it has roughly doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 170°C (top/bottom heat). Use a tablespoon to scoop out small portions of dough and roll them out. Top with ham and roll them into a log. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush the logs with the egg and top with the cheese. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until the cheese has melted well and the logs are golden brown.
