Tomato and cheese sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 3 m.-large tomato(s)
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp processed cheese
  • 200 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • some pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Goes great with pasta

Chop the tomatoes and onion as finely as possible and mince the garlic clove. Put the butter in a saucepan and sauté the onions briefly. Then add the tomatoes and garlic and pour in the vegetable stock. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes to soften the tomatoes. Mash the tomatoes in the pan to give the sauce a pleasant consistency and reduce the chunkiness. Add the tomato paste and mix well, then season with paprika, oregano, and a little pepper. Finally, add the cheese and stir until melted. The sauce tastes great without the processed cheese and can be seasoned with other spices.
