Gratinated mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g mashed potatoes, leftovers from the day before
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 100 g bacon, streaky, diced
  • 50 g cheese, grated
  • 50 g crème fraîche or sour cream
  • pepper
  • 1 egg(s)
  • nutmeg

Fry the bacon in a non-stick pan until nicely browned. Halfway through, add the onion and cook until translucent. Mix the cheese and crème fraîche. Meanwhile, whisk the egg, mix it with the purée, and season with pepper and nutmeg. Once the bacon is cooked, add the purée to the pan, stir everything together, and smooth the surface. Fry over low heat until the purée is golden brown on the underside. Carefully turn it over and cook the other side in the same way. Then transfer the purée to an ovenproof plate, spread with the cheese mixture, and bake in the oven at high heat for about 10 minutes.
