Mandarin sorbet

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 ml water
  • 250 g sugar
  • 1 can/n tangerine(s), with juice
  • 1 lime(s), squeezed

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 hours; Total time approx. 5 hours 10 minutes

Stir the water and sugar in a saucepan over low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Purée the mandarins with lime juice and, if desired, pass through a sieve. Mix everything in a freezer-safe bowl. Place in the freezer and freeze for about 5 hours, stirring occasionally with a fork or whisk. When the sorbet has crystallized nicely, ladle it into bowls. Mint sugar goes well with it: Crush 3 tablespoons of sugar with a few mint leaves (or lemon balm) in a mortar and pestle and sprinkle over the sorbet. Canned pineapple or peaches can also be used instead of mandarins!
