Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 tbsp margarine
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 300 ml broth (vegetable or meat)
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 5 tbsp sweet cream
  • 2 tbsp mixed herbs, to taste
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

From Grandma’s collection

Melt the margarine in a saucepan, brown the diced onion, add the flour and sauté until lightly browned, then stir in the tomato paste and remove the pan from the heat. Add the broth and cream, season with salt and pepper, a little paprika, a pinch of sugar, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Return the pan to the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes over low heat. Add herbs and season to taste. If desired, add garlic. Serves well with pasta or rice.
