Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g minced meat, mixed
  • 125 g lentils
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 large carrot(s)
  • 3 cm ginger root, fresh
  • turmeric
  • salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Cook the lentils according to the package instructions, adding the rice later depending on the cooking time. While the lentils are cooking, trim and finely grate the carrot and ginger. Heat the oil in a pan and brown the meat. When it’s cooked through, add the carrots and ginger and mix everything well. Leave on the stove over medium heat for about 5 minutes. When the lentils and rice are ready, drain the water and add them to the pan. Mix everything well and brown briefly again. Season with turmeric, salt, and pepper. Tip for those who find this too dry: It tastes great with a yogurt (and mint) sauce.
