Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 250 g dark chocolate (chocolate callets)
- 400 g nuts (pecans, Brazil nuts, or macadamia nuts)
- 450 g margarine
- 300 g brown cane sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 2 eggs
- 600 g flour
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tsp, heaped baking powder
- 40 g cocoa powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Roughly chop the nuts. You can use one type of nut or mix several, depending on your preference. pecans and Brazil nuts, for example, go well together in terms of taste. Whisk the margarine with the cane sugar, stir in the vanilla sugar and eggs, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder, and knead everything together well. Finally, add the nuts and the chocolate chips (or coarsely grated dark chocolate). Scoop a teaspoon of dough, shape it into a ball between your hands, and then flatten it. The cookie size can vary, from small cookies to the size of sandpaper cookies you’d find at a bakery. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (150°C fan-assisted oven) for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool, and if you like things sweet, dust with cocoa powder. Makes about 4-5 trays.
