Grandma's dumplings

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 25 g margarine
  • 125 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 minutes; Total time approx. 12 minutes

Bring the milk, salt, and margarine to a boil. Remove from the heat. Add the flour and stir with a dough hook until the dough pulls away from the pan in the shape of a lump. Stir the eggs and nutmeg into the hot mixture. Using 2 tablespoons, form dumplings and cook them in boiling salted water or directly in the soup. Remove them when they start to float to the top. I always make carrot soup and let it simmer in it. That’s how my grandma always did it.
