Rice and spinach casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g rice
  • 450 g creamed spinach, frozen
  • 250 g quark
  • ½ ring/s of meat sausage
  • 200 g cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • paprika

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Meanwhile, thaw the spinach slowly in a saucepan, stirring occasionally, and heat through. Dice the sausage. Drain the rice and add it to the spinach. Add the quark and sausage cubes, and mix everything together. Season to taste and pour into a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake the casserole for about 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 180°C (convection oven). Tip: If you like, you can replace the quark, or some of it, with herb crème fraîche or herb quark. Also tastes good with diced ham (raw or cooked).
