Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 275 g flour
  • 85 g powdered sugar
  • 120 g sugar
  • 175 g butter, cold
  • 1 egg white
  • 75 g poppy seeds – baking

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Knead the flour, powdered sugar, butter, and poppy seed mixture by hand, wrap in foil, and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Beat the egg whites until light and fluffy. Form the dough into two rolls and brush each with the egg white. Roll each roll generously in sugar. Refrigerate the dough for another 45 minutes. Cut the rolls into approximately 1 cm thick pieces and place them on a baking sheet (lined with parchment paper). Bake in the oven at 175°C for approximately 15 minutes. Cool thoroughly on a wire rack. Makes approximately 40 rolls.
