Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes
Grease the muffin tin wells with softened butter and dust with flour. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese with 1 tablespoon of orange soda and the powdered sugar; then set aside. Put the flour in a bowl, mix with the baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Crack the egg into another bowl and whisk lightly. Stir in the sugar, vanilla sugar, butter, remaining orange soda, and sour cream. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and gently fold everything in, mixing gently with a wooden spoon. Spoon about one-third of the batter into the muffin tins, place 1 teaspoon of cream cheese filling into each well, and fill with the remaining batter. Place the muffin tin on the middle rack of the oven and bake the muffins for 25-30 minutes. Don’t forget to test for doneness. Remove the muffins from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes, then remove them from the pan and let them cool. For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with the juice and spread it over the muffins. Decorate with orange wine gums. Tip: You can also replace the orange soda with cola and place cola bottles made from wine gums on each muffin.
