Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 150 g sugar

  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 150 g flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Deliciously spicy Christmas cookies, for 40 pieces

Whisk the egg and egg yolk with the sugar until frothy. Stir in the salt and ginger powder, then combine the mixture with the flour to form a smooth dough. The raw dough tastes much more intense than the baked cookies, so don’t be too sparing with the ginger powder. Let it rest at room temperature for about 15 minutes. Roll out the dough to about ½ cm thick, cut out cookies, and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake for about 15 minutes on the second-to-lowest rack in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius. Cool on a wire rack and enjoy. The cookies can also be frozen without any problem.
