Instructions
Working time approx. 50 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
with raisins
Mix all of the dough ingredients with a hand mixer until you have a dough. Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the dough out over a surface measuring 40 x 15 cm. Use a baking frame as a border or, alternatively, make a frame out of aluminum foil. Bake the dough in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 14 minutes. Then remove the base from the oven and let it cool briefly. For the topping, beat the egg whites with the sugar until stiff peaks form. Roughly chop the raisins and fold them into the beaten egg whites along with the nuts. Spread the mixture over the base and bake for another 25 minutes. Melt the chocolate and sprinkle it over the pastry. Once the chocolate has set, cut into strips, diamonds, or corners as desired.
