Filled orange slices from Rosinenkind

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 50 g sugar, brown
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), the pulp
  • 150 g butter
  • 2 tbsp Cointreau
  • 150 g orange peel, finely chopped
  • 1 jar jam (orange marmalade)
  • 250 g powdered sugar
  • 5 tbsp orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed
  • e.g. candied orange peel or orange zest for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Knead the first six ingredients into a dough and shape it into rolls. About 5cm thick, wrap in cling film and chill for at least 1 hour. Cut the rolls into 4mm-thick slices and bake for about 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 175°C. Let cool. Gently warm the jam and place two of each round together. Mix the powdered sugar with the orange juice until smooth and drizzle decoratively over the rounds. Garnish with candied orange peel or orange zest, if desired.
