Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 210 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 130 g margarine, semi-skimmed
  • 120 g sugar
  • 45 g powdered sugar
  • 10 ml rum
  • 1 tsp water

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 3 minutes

Halve the vanilla pod lengthwise, scrape out the seeds, and knead it with flour, baking powder, cinnamon, margarine, and sugar until smooth. Wrap the dough in cling film and chill for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan oven). Line a baking tray with baking paper. Roll out the dough, cut out cookies using Christmas-shaped cutters, and place them on the baking tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Mix the powdered sugar with rum and water until smooth, brush over the cookies, and let dry.
