  • 500 g carrot(s), large, not the small ones, they are too moist

  • 2 large onions
  • Butter or margarine for frying
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • some milk for mashing

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel the potatoes and carrots and cut into pieces. The cooking time depends on the size of the pieces. Boil in a little salted water for about 20 minutes. In the meantime, peel the onions, dice them, and fry them in the fat until golden brown. Drain the potatoes and carrots and mash them with the onions, the cooking fat, a little milk if desired, and the spices. For meat lovers, this dish is delicious with fried smoked bacon, meatballs, bratwurst, and any type of meat with sauce, such as goulash or beef roulades. Fish also works very well.
