Lard nuts with baking powder

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g lard, room temperature
  • 200 g sugar
  • 500 g flour (type 405)
  • 1 m.-sized egg(s)
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder, real
  • 1 shot of rum, or some vanilla sugar, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

quick to make, not so sweet

Knead all ingredients except the cocoa. Divide the dough in half and knead the cocoa into one half. Form white and brown balls, flatten them slightly, and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (convection oven) for 15 minutes. If you like, you can add a little rum or vanilla sugar to the dough, depending on your mood. These Schmalznusschen (liquor nuts) are worth a try, because you usually have everything you need at home, except for the lard.
