Apples in a dressing gown

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 m.-sized apples
  • 7 puff pastry squares of 45 g each
  • 140 g marzipan
  • 20 g almonds, chopped
  • 40 g brittle
  • 2 cl Amaretto
  • 1 egg(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Without raisins

Thaw the puff pastry at room temperature. Peel the apples and cut out the centers. Knead the marzipan, almonds, brittle, and Amaretto together and fill the apples with it. Lightly roll out 6 puff pastry squares (large enough to cover the apple when the corners are aligned), place the apples in the center, and fold the puff pastry up around the apples. Brush with beaten egg. Cut out 6 circles from the last puff pastry square (you may need to roll it out a little more) and place them on the apples, also brushing with egg. Place the apples on a baking tray and bake at 180°C in a non-preheated oven for 30 minutes. Vanilla sauce goes very well with this.
