Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 700 g apples, already peeled and cut into small pieces
- 100 ml water or apple juice
- e.g. syrup (apple syrup)
- e.g. cinnamon
- e.g. sugar or sweetener
- 200 ml milk
- 1 pack of chocolate pudding powder
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
Peel and chop the apples. Place them in a saucepan with water and, if desired, apple syrup/apple juice, a little cinnamon, and the vanilla sugar (and if you like, add regular sugar), bring to a boil, and simmer until the apples are soft. Mix the pudding mix with 200 ml of milk. (If too much liquid has been added to the apples, use less milk, otherwise the applesauce will be too runny). Stir the mixture into the boiling apple mixture, then simmer for a minute. Remove the pan from the heat and carefully season to taste, adding sugar if necessary. Let the mixture cool slightly, then puree until finely ground using a food processor/hand blender. The applesauce still has a predominantly apple flavor, but the aftertaste is subtly chocolatey. In addition to the vanilla sugar, I added three stevia sweetener tablets, and my family and I loved it. But that’s up to each individual. We ate the applesauce with homemade Kaiserschmarrn.
