how my family likes it best

Pour 125 ml of milk into a small bowl. Place the rest of the milk on the stove. Split open the vanilla pod, scrape out the seeds, and add both the seeds and the pod to the milk pan. Bring them together slowly to a boil. In the meantime, stir the cornstarch and cocoa powder into the remaining milk and break the chocolate into pieces. When the milk boils, stir in the cornstarch, cocoa, and milk mixture and whisk vigorously to dissolve the sugar in the cocoa powder. Caution: The mixture thickens very quickly! Remove from the heat. Stir the dark chocolate into the still-hot pudding until it has completely dissolved. Only then remove the vanilla pod. Tastes best when still warm.
