Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 6 slices of ciabatta or white bread
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 100 ml milk
  • some salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • some herbs (e.g. basil), dried
  • n. B. Cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Slice the tomatoes and bread. Arrange them in a baking dish in a shingle-like layer. Combine the eggs with the milk and seasonings and pour the egg wash over the bread and tomatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 200°C for about 20 minutes.
