a recipe from the Allgäu farmer’s kitchen

Combine the first 6 ingredients and knead thoroughly. The rolls don’t need to be soaked beforehand. The eggs already provide enough liquid, so the dough will form a relatively homogenous mass. Mix in the diced bell peppers and diced cheese. Shape the mixture into an oval loaf and wrap it in the rolled-out puff pastry. If desired, cut out small shapes from the remaining dough. Brush the dough with egg, decorate with the shapes, and bake at 200°C for about 45-60 minutes.
