Melon salad

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 iceberg lettuce
  • 1 honeydew melon(s)
  • 300 g white seedless grapes
  • 1 cucumber(s)
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar, white
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut the iceberg lettuce into strips. Halve the honeydew melon, remove the seeds, remove the rind, and cut into small pieces. Peel the cucumber, halve it lengthwise, remove the seeds, and cut into pieces. Halve the grapes. Make a marinade with vinegar, oil (1/2 olive, 1/2 sunflower), salt, sugar, and plenty of pepper (black and freshly ground) and stir it in. Sprinkle with finely chopped chives and let it stand for 10 minutes. It tastes wonderfully refreshing, e.g., with a barbecue. For a richer version, stir in fried chicken strips and/or finely diced cheese.
