Bergbaron cheese rolls

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 12 slice(s) cheese (Bergbaron slices with smaller holes), thinly sliced
  • 12 slice(s) Leberkäse, thinly sliced
  • Flour, for breading
  • 1 egg(s), for breading
  • Breadcrumbs, for coating
  • Pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Place the Bergbaron on a slice of Leberkäse (liver sausage), season with pepper, and roll it up, seal with a toothpick, then coat thoroughly with plain flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. (You can also do it the other way around, but it’s a bit more delicate.) Fry in oil and serve with a green salad or on a mixed salad platter. If you like, you can wrap a gherkin or a cooked carrot in the rolls. Tip: Children especially love them.
