Grandma’s recipe

For the dough, bring water and butter or margarine to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from the heat and add the flour and cornstarch to the pan, mix until smooth, and heat for about a minute, stirring constantly. Then mix in the eggs and baking powder using a mixer and dough hook. Now put the dough into a piping bag fitted with a wide star nozzle and pipe small wreaths onto greased parchment paper. Heat the oil. Dip the paper in the boiling oil to release the wreaths. Then, floating the wreaths in the oil, fry them on both sides until light brown. Then drain well on a wire rack. For the icing, mix the ingredients well and spread the mixture over the pastry.
