Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 250 g quark, 20% fat
  • 100 g almonds, sliced
  • 1 onion(s), finely diced
  • 2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
  • 1 bunch parsley, chopped
  • 5 peppermint leaves, chopped
  • 5 dates, dried, finely diced
  • 5 apricots, dried, finely diced
  • 3 tsp spice mix (Raz el Hanout)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Knead together the ground beef, quark, almonds, onions, garlic, parsley, peppermint, dates, apricots, Raz el Hanout spice mix, and salt and form into balls approximately 3-4 cm in diameter. Brown them all over in a pan with a little olive oil. Season the can of diced tomatoes with the sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of Raz el Hanout, and a little salt, and pour over the meatballs. Simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with rice and natural yogurt.
