Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 2 rolls of dough from the refrigerated counter
- 100 g butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tbsp milk
- n. B. Confectionery or cookies such as small cinnamon stars
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes
Unroll a roll of puff pastry. Melt the butter. Stir in the cinnamon, cocoa powder, and sugar, and brush the puff pastry with it. Unroll the second roll of puff pastry and place it on top of the first roll. Cut everything into strips approximately 1.5-2 cm wide. Arrange the strips accordion-style in a Christmas tree shape, i.e., wider at the bottom and shorter towards the top. Then thread them onto a wooden skewer, leaving 1-2 cm of the skewer hanging over the top. Depending on the width of the strips and the desired size, the dough will make about 3-4 trees. Mix the egg yolk and milk and brush the trees with it. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (top/bottom heat) for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Tip: When using puff pastry, I place an ovenproof dish filled with boiling water in the oven before baking. The steam is beneficial for puff pastry! After cooling, you can add chocolate balls or small cinnamon stars as Christmas tree toppers. To do this, drill a hole in the chocolate balls with a hot needle.
