How long can jelly be stored?

The average safe storage period for jellied meat in the refrigerator is 4-5 days. If your dish is quite fatty, this period can last up to 7 days.

If you have added carrots or parsley to the jelly, it is better not to eat it later than 3-4 days after preparation. This is because any product that has not been heat-treated reduces the shelf life of the dish.

But if you added chopped raw horseradish to the jelly, the shelf life of the dish will increase by 1-2 days. The main thing is to cover the dish with foil or cling film.

Of course, there are cases when a person simply forgot how long the jelly has been in the refrigerator. In such a situation, you can simply pay attention to the smell and appearance of the dish. If you notice that the water has started to come out of the jelly, it means that the dish has already started to deteriorate. You can leave the jelly in a warm room for a while. If it has an unpleasant odor, you can safely throw it away.

What you can do with jelly before it goes bad
