The fact is that while ripe persimmons improve gastrointestinal motility because they contain pectin and fiber, unripe fruit has the opposite effect. It contains a large number of tannins and acts as a glue, digesting food particles together.
Persimmon is also contraindicated in acute kidney and bladder diseases. It promotes frequent urination, which will put additional stress on the body.
