Aid Biscuits
The perfect aid biscuits recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- Basic dough:
- 1 Up to 1.5 kg of flour
- 350 g Sugar
- 450 g Soft butter or margarine
- 2 packet Vanilla sugar
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 2 Pinches Salt
- 3 Eggs
- 2 Protein
- For ball no 1:
- 2 tbsp Aniseed
- For ball # 2:
- 3 tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
- For jam biscuits
- 4 tbsp Jam of your choice
- 1 tbsp Water
- To cover and spread
- 2 Egg yolk 3 use
- 1 bag Peeled almonds, halved
- Mix the butter or margarine with sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and the eggs and egg whites together until the sugar has dissolved. Now knead in the baking powder and enough flour until you have a nice shortcrust pastry. Divide this into three balls.
- Knead one ball with the anise and one with the sesame seeds. Now wrap all three balls in cling film and chill for 1-2 hours. The longer the better the aromas can spread.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (convection 160 degrees) and line 2-3 baking sheets with baking paper.
- Now you take a ball and roll it out on a lightly floured work surface about 0.5 cm thick and cut out any shapes. Distribute these on the baking sheets and top with half an almond or more as desired. Brush with egg yolk (I mixed the egg yolk with some milk) and bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes or depending on the desired browning. For the cookies with a pattern, I used moon cake molds.
- Continue like this until all the dough balls and leftover dough are used up. Simply make a recess for the jam biscuits or use a cookie cutter that will do it for you. See pictures!!!!
- For the jam biscuits, mix the jam with 1 tablespoon of water, mix with a blender and bring to the boil. Allow to cool a little and use a teaspoon to pour into the recess of the biscuits. To let it cool down.
- Now keep the biscuits in an airtight jar.
- Tip for the third ball (if you like): • 2 tablespoons of chopped nuts • 1 tablespoon of chocolate sprinkles If you like, you can knead these ingredients into the third ball, of course you can also reverse the proportions. Say 2 tbsp chocolate & 1 tbsp nut. Or you can leave the third ball natural.
- Hello my loved ones and Salamu alaikum, as you can see from the pictures, this time I made some kind of mussels. I halved a ball of dough again and kneaded one half with some baking cocoa. I then put a piece of cling film in the elongated shape (see picture) so that you can remove the pastry better. Then I took some of the light dough and some of the dark dough and pressed it in and smoothed it. Then simply lift the cling film and remove it. Do this again until the light and dark dough is used up. You can also knead the two doughs together to create a marble pattern, roll out and cut out. It’s up to you. Meriam wishes you a lot of fun
