American Cookies / American Biscuits

The perfect american cookies / american biscuits recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 280 g Flour
  • 250 g Butter
  • 100 g Sugar brown
  • 130 g Sugar
  • 2 piece Free range eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 200 g Chocolate or nuts / as required /

Prepare

  1. Beat the butter, both types of sugar & salt until frothy, add the eggs & vanilla sugar and stir until creamy, set aside a little flour & mix in the baking soda, stir the remaining flour into the mixture spoon by spoon. At the end stir in the flour and baking soda mixture. Now mix the chocolate / nuts into the dough.

Baking + cooling

  1. Place the dough tablespoon at a time on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (leave plenty of space! The cookies melt very strongly. A maximum of 8 cookies per sheet). Bake at 190 ° C for approx. 8 – 9 minutes. Important: Depending on the oven, the cookies will be ready a little earlier or later. They are perfect when the edges are very light brown and the core of the cookies is still moist. Then take it out of the oven immediately and carefully place it on a plate to cool down. When they cool down, they then harden, but remain nice and tender on the inside. If they are completely crispy, they have been in the oven too long! It is best to keep it chilled in a can (lasts about 4 days).
