crumbly pastry with whole nuts and whole almonds

Make a dough from flour, butter, sugar, eggs, salt, baking powder, and vanilla sugar. Finally, mix in the whole almonds, nuts, raisins, and currants by hand. Divide the dough into 5 equal parts and form each part into a roll about 3-4 cm thick. Wrap each roll individually in aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight. This will make them nice and hard! Now cut about 0.5 cm thick slices from the rolls and place them on a baking sheet. This works surprisingly well with a sharp knife! Whisk the egg yolk with the cream and spread it over the cookies. Bake in a preheated oven at 160-170°C (fan oven) for 15 minutes. These cookies are an absolute must-have every Christmas and are loved by everyone.
