Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 10 minutes
First, take 1 tablespoon of the sugar and mix it with the dry yeast and lukewarm water, then let it stand for 10 minutes. Mix the flour with the remaining sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead well. Add the melted butter (not too hot), the lukewarm milk, and the eggs, and knead with a dough hook until you have a soft dough. Roll out the dough to a thickness of your thumb. Use a large round cutter to cut out circles. Make a small hole in the center of the circle. Let the donuts rest for an hour. Heat the oil in a wok and deep-fry the donuts in batches until light brown. If desired, decorate the donuts with icing or chocolate.
