Appenzeller cheese noodles

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g potatoes
  • 250 g pasta (e.g. penne)
  • Salt
  • 1 vegetable onion(s)
  • 40 g butter
  • 250 g cheese (Appenzeller)
  • 1 bunch marjoram or parsley
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Wash and peel the potatoes and cut them into approximately 2 cm cubes. Cook them in salted water with the pasta. Preheat oven to 200°C. Meanwhile, peel the onion and thinly slice it. Fry in hot butter until golden brown. Coarsely grate the cheese. Drain the potato and pasta mixture and toss with the herbs. Layer the potatoes and pasta in a preheated dish, alternating with the cheese. Season generously. Arrange the onions on top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes. Serve hot. A must for any cheese lover.
